- HIV that causes- AIDS, first starts destroying helper T-lymphocytes. A retro virus, HIV enters into the blood stream and incorporates with hosts DNA to direct viral production. HIV infects helper T-cells and use it as the viral multiplicative centre. Attacking helper T-cells lowers, the immune response and binding of receptors on HIV surface becomes difficult. Helper T-cells recognizes antigen presented with class-II MHC, which results in immune response. Due to the HIV infection helper T-cells are rendered response ineffective as initiator or immune response.
