Solution:

$ \Delta {\ell_1}=\Delta {\ell_2} $

$ {\ell_1}{\alpha_1}={\ell_2}{\alpha_2} $

$ \frac{{\ell_1}}{{\ell_2}}=\frac{{\alpha_2}}{{\alpha_1}} $

$ \frac{88}{{\ell_a}}=\frac{2.2\times {10^{-5}}}{1.7\times {10^{-5}}} $

$ {\ell_a}=68cm $

Comment: In this question it should be difference in length instead of increase in length.
